5 Easy Steps to Cultivate Joy in Your Life

1. Seek out sunshine present moments

A rainbow, a sunrise, a sunset, a smile, an old couple holding hands. Any moment outside of you that can give you hope, and also fills your cup without judging where you currently are.

2. Practice gratitude

Each and every moment, feeling, thought, people or whatever you choose to be grateful for each day. As you continue to do so, you will see more bits of your life a bit more positively, even if your circumstances have not changed.

3. Move your body

Take yourself out for a walk, try a dance routine, play a game that gets you moving. By moving your body, you release endorphins that make you feel lighter and in turn a bit more joyful. Feelings of proud for self can also be possible.

4. Be intentional

Create a list, follow a routine, focus on one thing at a time. No matter what it is that you are doing, make sure that you are intentional & conscious of it. Intentional rest & intentional activities make for a more calm & joyful mind.

5. Remind yourself that you are human

Nothing is in your control, except how you react to them. So by reminding yourself that you aren't perfect, you are able to see the fun & joy in imperfection.

All of these are simple steps that I personally use to cultivate joy in my own life. Take what resonates, leave everything else behind.
